Response

Well. I posted the article you find below titled "Do away with Representative Democracy in India" in this website and I received a very interesting reponse. Below is an excerpt from it:


Here are a few not-so-serious suggestions for helping the (election) process on its way:

- There will be a simple question which voters have to answer before they are eligible to vote. e.g., "Using dams to generate hydel power removes the 'strength' from water. True/False"

- Abolish party symbols: Voters would need to read the party/candidate name to be able to vote

- Put a simple maze in front of the booth. Whoever is stuck in it beyond a reasonable time limit is asked to try again in the next election. (It would be nice if we can remove some crucial body parts also at the same, but that's too much to expect.)

- Match the following: Voters would need to match the party to the candidate and then select the one to vote for.
