Empty barrels make much noise a.k.a Shootout at Lokhandwala

Few movies achieve the dubious distinction of making you think that watching plants grow or cows shit might be a better alternative to spend those two-and-half hours. “Shootout at Lokhandwala” falls and squats itself into this list comfortably. Apart from a colossal waste of time, a splitting headache and an unbee(a)rable damage for the rest of the day, not to mention a lighter wallet and a chance to see some 400 similarly disgruntled faces, the movie promises very little.

The director has excelled in achieving near perfection in miscasting almost all characters in the movie so much so that you feel that even a random assignment might have made more sense. What should have just been a 15-minute action video has been developed into a movie resulting in unnecessary, shallow character depictions and avoidable scenes. The only satisfactory thing is that the reviews have been pretty much univocal in denouncing the movie a complete bore thus enabling the theatres across the country to move on quickly to better releases and less angry faces.

Onto other stuff, I managed to get my bike to Noida. The vehicle with a TN registration looks grossly out of place in a city crowded with “DL”s and “HR”s and “UP”s and an occassional “A/F” (April Fool?). I have a gut feel that, but for the brand of the bike, the UP policemen, given their knowledge about the country, might think that the bike is imported.
